Africa! A Continent of 800 Million beautiful people, many living on 'less than a dollar a day'. We can so easily make a difference to their lives through giving what we no longer need ourselves. |
School Fundraisers How it Works |
1. |
MAKE A BOOKING. Choose the date/s most suitable to you and we will endeavour to fit you into our schedule. You can operate this scheme once a term without a problem, as parents and friends will be constantly recycling. For a four-term commitment we will pay a bonus of 10%. See details below. |

2. |
ONE WEEK BEFORE. You will receive the quantity of brochures and bags you have previously advised, in time for you to distribute and motivate your pupils. Even though your numbers may be small, you can request extra supplies to give to friends or distribute in your community, advising that the bags will be collected from the school at the specified time. Any bags can be used if people have extra donations or don't have a bag. |
3. |
ON THE DAY. On the day of collection our vehicle will come to the school and pick up the bags collected. On a fine day bags can be left outside, on a wet one, under cover at a place with truck access. We will load the bags ourselves to save you the trouble. |

PAYMENT. a. BY WEIGHT: A full bag holds about 10kg of clothes and other items. We pay 20c per kg (including GST), equating to $2.00 for each full bag. Most bags however, will contain nearer 5 kg. Not all, but most, are likely to be returned. b. WEIGHT CALCULATION: To simplify matters, we will weigh our vehicle before and after collection, sending a copy of the weigh bridge certificate to you, along with a calculation showing how much you have earned. c. PAYMENT: Will be made under normal commercial criteria. We can pay by cheque or direct credit, as you require. d. BONUS PAYMENT: If you sign up for 4 consecutive terms (not necessarily all in the same year) we will pay an average 10% bonus per collection as follows |
1ST COLLECTION: Normal price. 2ND COLLECTION: Normal price plus 7.5% 3RD COLLECTION: Normal price plus 12.5% 4TH COLLECTION: Normal price plus 20% |

A HUMANITARIAN ALTERNATIVE Should you so desire, we can arrange for your earnings to be used for a specific project or purpose in Africa, which you can support as a school or organisation. These could range from supporting orphans or building an orphanage, to providing medicines for medical clinics, drilling a well or supporting a village business venture designed to help people help themselves. We would discuss this with you at the time of your enquiry. |
